trying to stay mindful

sense :: smell // laundry detergent

The weekend was all too short, I’m afraid. I have to admit that the weekend is always such a wonderful time of the week; Friday we did some grocery shopping and went to bed early, and Saturday my parents were in town early, so we hung out with them for a while. It was nice to see them, and we managed to pawn our old frosted glass tables we were using as desks off on them; they said they had a use for them, so there you go-rock on. Glad to be rid of them, to be perfectly honest.

Saturday concluded with us taping down the network cable that had up to this point presented a tripping hazard in different parts of the house and starting to hang posters and wallscrolls but getting totally sidetracked by Howl’s Moving Castle, after which we went ahead and got down to hanging posters and things up in the music room downstairs. Some chinese food from a tasty new restaurant in the area, a beer, some tea, and some push pins. It was a good night.

In other news, Sunday I spent the majority of the day being a geek and playing World of Warcraft, doing various instances while Raevyn, whose wrists were hurting, opted instead to hang some more wallscrolls, make food, clean up, do the laundry, and essentially make herself a trillion times more useful than I was. But I got some phat lewt!

Today it’s off to Verizon Wireless to get a new phone and get some lunch. Day’s pretty quiet, which is exactly how I like it. Here’s to it staying that way.

In the meantime, I’m trying to make sure I’m here, now.

Who was your favorite character in Howl’s Moving Castle?

That’s such a hard question! Part of me wants to go out on the default and say Sophie was my favorite character, but I have to say that Turnip’s unending devotion and loyalty endeared him to me a little more. And the whole “Prince Charming who doesn’t get the girl” aspect was just the icing on the cake. :)
