Back from Otakon – had a fabulous time and took tons of photos that I’ll retouch and upload soon, I promise. Picked up some swag, hung out with the lovely Kittyhawk of Montrose Academy and Sparkling Generation Valkyrie Yuuki and I didn’t even make a nervous fool of myself saying hello to her and begging her for a photo and signed goodness. Also hung out with a wealth of other amazing artists and friends, and made a few new ones while I was there – which was my goal, so the con was a resounding success.
Full recap later though when I get those photos uploaded. The photo above was taken from our room on the top floor (the 20th) of the shiny new Hilton that’s connected to the convention center. See that building just in front of the parking garage down there at the bottom? That’s the Marriott where I’ve been known to stay. With the exception of a room mixup and the fact that they ran out of fridges, the Hilton was fabulous and I’d love to stay there again. It helps that it’s connected directly to the convention center and the manga library and a few panels were in the Hilton. Good price, too.
In any event, off to wash the clothes I just unpacked, toss my costume in for dry cleaning and consider what I’m going to do about next year before it’s too late, and play with the shiny toys I picked up. Oh, and buy frames for all of the prints I bought. My bare walls will soon be covered in beautiful artwork.
Can’t wait for the pix! Hope to be able to make it myself in a couple years.
