wash away the neighbors

sense :: hearing // George Kranz – Din Daa Daa

So right, apparently there’s threat and word of flooding around where I live. Good times. I’m not particularly worried, but I’m not particlarly apathetic either. Raevyn bailed from work and went home to make sure everything was okay. Bleh. It’s kind of odd that people are talking about flooding today, when it’s absolutely amazing outside and the sun is shining. That being said, it’s threatening to rain again tomorrow, Sunday, next Monday, and on into next week. Good times. We already got around a foot of rain over the past 3 days. We could use a break.

Although admittedly, I do prefer the overcast, rolling skies and the fast-moving clouds to the bright stark sunshine. Easier on the eyes, I think.

In other, cheerier news, I caught this video of the Mythbusters making a tree cannon and knew it was worth sharing. It’s creepy how well a tree works as a cannon, to be honest.

Also, charity is most certainly not dead. That’s an absolutely amazing story; a humble grocer living on his own and putting his millions to good use, completely selflessly. I’m absolutely amazed. Not too many people like that exist in America; comfortable with a simple and quiet life without a whole lot of money. I can only hope that if I ever run into money that I’m similarly kind.

We’re trying! The rain’s not helping, but we’re hanging in there. Nothing significant to report aside from flooding all AROUND us though. 🙂

And yes, the Kaminski story really does give me more faith in humanity.
