purple darkness is love

sense :: sight // purple curtains

Our new bedroom curtains are love. I mean seriously; they’re insulated deep purple and heavy fabric, so absolutely no light comes in through the windows. Glorious-I can finally sleep in the mornings-now that the sun rises pretty close to our bedroom windows, it’s nice to know that even with the light outside it’ll still be dim enough (read: pitch black) to rest inside. This morning was a great example-it was so uncharacteristically dark this morning I totally forgot what time it was and had to hurry out of bed.

In other news; Alternet had a great interview from LA CityBeat with the guy behind the hilarious Get Your War On, which if you haven’t read, you really really should.

By the way, I’m having a really hard time convincing myself not to run out and buy a MacBook Pro. With everyone at werk telling me I totally ought to, especially my manager, who is well aware that I can afford one now that my review is over and my bonus deposited, it’s getting hard to resist. I said I would wait until I saw reviews, but it’s so so tempting.

I love our new curtains. I’m sure that we’ll be late quite often until we become accustomed to their velvety darkness.

I’m eager to go home and pet them. Mmm curtains.
