As much as I love Livejournal, I have to admit, the new sponsored+ account type is kind of a BS way to get around ads. I jumped on the paid user bandwagon a while back, so it’s no problem for me, but as someone who pretty much just signed up for livejournal so I could comment on the entries of my friends and such, I would be pretty annoyed if Livejournal said they’d never do ads, and then all of a sudden changed their minds, like apparently they have. That being said, I understand they’ve gotta make money (even though Six Apart, their parent company, just got a boatload of capital) but I don’t know if turning Livejournal into Geocities is really the answer. Ah well, time will tell.
In other news, I’m stoked to try MonoCalendar, which LifeHacker so eloquently showed me today, which is essentially iCal for windows. Yup-the very calendar I’ve been waiting for like, all my life. And if it works with iCal and Google Calendar, I’m completely sold.
Paul Robertson, who’s artwork reminds me deliciously of the animations in one of my favorite game series of all time, Metal Slug, has released his new movie which I plan to download in all of its glory, believe it.
Anyway, as we set upon the glorious weekend, I’ll leave you with some pretty pretty pictures of rainbows.
PIRATE BABY!!!
dear god, it gets better everytime you watch it.
